Emergency Management Tools

Emergency Management for Businesses

Businesses can be challenged by unanticipated interruptions, such as fire, illness, or even the loss of power due to construction activities and/or weather emergencies.  Many of the problems associated with these challenges can be minimized with good planning and an awareness of potential threats.  The NHBRC (www.nheconomy.com) provides personal contact to all businesses throughout the State of New Hampshire, and acts as a single point of contact when the unexpected occurs.

The information below provides guidance on creating a Business Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), which is an internally generated strategy for recovering from hardship. There is also information on current national priorities, (e.g. H1N1) and contact information.

Business Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)

Every Business Should Have an Emergency Plan and Business Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).  It can save lives, company assets, and your entire business.  For many smaller businesses, the ability to quickly recover from emergency interruptions is often a measure of long term survival.  Please visit www.ready.gov to Prepare, Plan, and Stay Informed.  This website, as well as www.cdc.gov and www.fema.gov, provide templates and suggested procedural guidelines to assist you in the development of your Emergency Plan/Business COOP.
